Sandhill Solar
The Sandhill Solar Project is a proposed 100-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Barron County, Wisconsin, which is anticipated to generate clean, affordable and homegrown energy and substantial local revenues for the Barron County community.
That’s enough clean energy to power the equivalent of approximately 17,000 typical Wisconsin homes.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Will generate enough energy to power the equivalent of approximately 17,000 typical Wisconsin homes.

Aiming for start of construction in late 2028 and targeting commercial operations in late 2029
Expected to generate more than $19.25 million in new revenues to local towns and county with an estimated $180 million total project investment.
Life cycle: 35 years from the date of commercial operation.
Helps meet the critical demand for energy sources in Wisconsin and bolsters the region's grid reliability.
Supports biodiversity and soil nutrient composition by revegetating with a pollinator friendly seed mix.
Up to 100 megawatts (MW) of solar added to support the local electrical grid.
Solar infrastructure (panels and inverters) will be located within 100% privately-owned land.
